Welcome from our Pastor

Welcome! I'm Keith Haithcock, Pastor & Teacher of St. John United Church of Christ in Bellevue, Kentucky.

For over 125 years, St. John Church has practiced the extravagant welcome and radical inclusive love of God as taught by Jesus, the Christ. This is a place of second chances for people - just like you - to discover their full potential.

Through relevant worship, inspirational music, mission, service to others and spiritual growth opportunities we are committed to integrating Christian spirituality with everyday life.

Pastor's Message

When I was a kid I remember a TV commercial about a bath product called, Calgon. It portrayed a woman who had way too much to do around the house and the catch phrase was, “Calgon, take me away!” My friends and I say, “Calgon, take me away!” when something overwhelming is happening, or someone is driving us crazy, or just to be silly about the headaches of life and our vocational responsibilities. At times, consumed with daily tasks, work, and responsibilities any of us have moments when we want someone to come and “take us away”. The holiday seasons certainly can bring on this feeling.

We may feel alone at times and that God is far away from us, but our Creator does not leave us in despair. God is relational, God is incarnational, God is generous and God is engaging. God has not just played in the dirt to form ‘ādhām (humankind) and then left us abandoned with unanswered questions. God offers us answers and the possibility to be engaged with God in this life.   Read More ...
