Lent, Holy Week & Easter @ St. JohnJoin with others for a 4-week Lenten Study Series. The book, Covenant – A Study for the United Church of Christ, in light of the fractures within the UCC, encourages the members of the UCC to have meaningful discussions about the word "covenant." The author, former Southwest Ohio Northern Kentucky Association Ministers, Jane Fisler Hoffman, hopes that her resource will bring people together around this one word and show that, even with a diversity of views, people have more things in common than not in common. The study contains nine thought-provoking chapters that explore the concept of covenant as it relates to: the Hebrew Testament, Jesus Christ, God, our UCC heritage, the wider UCC, autonomy, and more. You are invited to learn about what it means to be a covenant Church. Two tracks of classes will be held in Room 102 on Thursdays (February 25th through March 18th).
Morning Track: Thursdays 10:30 a.m. to Noon
Evening Track: Thursdays 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
A minimum of seven participants will be needed for each track group. The registration deadline is Ash Wednesday, February 17th.
