Greeter Coordinator
Perfect role for someone who wants to help but doesn’t “do” committees
Recruit greeters and captains to staff the five weekly usher teams, and provide occasional training to new and/or currently serving greeters.
- Skills
- Fearlessly asking congregation members for help!
- Ability to assemble a complete phone list and rotation schedule for the greeters
- Training others in material that is not necessarily of your own creation
- Chair, Evangelism and Growth Committee
- Attendance at meetings NOT required
Reports to
Responsibilities (and time commitment)
Summer 2008 (approximately 3 hours)
1. Determine and fill existing open slots with greeter staff – review with E&G
– Recruit 4th Sunday captain
2. Prepare, coordinate and deliver training to new 2008 ushers
– This will be done with the assistance of E&G
3. Maintain greeters roster & rotation, post on bulletins boards and distribute to greeters
Fall 2008 (approximately 5 hours)
4. Identify open slots for 2009 (in October), review with E&G, recruit and fill slots for Sundays beginning January 2009
5. Recruit year round and summer substitutes
6. Prepare 2009 greeters roster and rotation, post on bulletin boards and distribute to greeters
January 2009 (approximately 3 hours)
7. Prepare, coordinate and deliver training (2 hours) to new 2009 ushers
8. Check attendance with captains
9. Provide feedback on process to Evangelism & Church Growth committee
10. Disengage
